You might choose a club close to where yo work for ease of morning or lunchtime training, or you might choose one closer to home so that you can train there at weekends.
If you work shifts or odd hours, you could save yourself money by joining on an off-peak membership basis. Ascertain whether your membership fee includes personal training and gym instruction or fitness testing as these can be costly add-ons.
